I found MuralsDC on Idealist.org, an interactive project that is part of Action Without Borders. MuralsDC is a non-profit funded by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, aiming at empowering youth through music and art, as well as fostering a sense of community in the Greater Washington area. I’ve always believed that design can be a powerful tool that changes lives, influences mindsets, and helps one contribute to his/her community. By using design in that context, I have answered my own question of how I can fulfill not only myself but also others with a craft that’s mostly driven by the desire to express one’s personal authenticity.
